NAIROBI
Nairobi is the capital of Kenya and is most often used as a transit point for people heading in and out of the country. For those willing to stop-over for a day or two there are plenty of worthwhile attractions to keep you busy.
The city is situated right alongside the Nairobi National Park, a game reserve known for breeding the endangered black rhino and home to lion, zebra and giraffe.
Further highlights include a visit to the Daphne Sheldrick Orphanage where you can encounter baby elephants up close – and possibly even baby rhino; or a visit to the Karen Blixen Museum, former home of Danish author Karen Blixen, famous for her book ‘Out of Africa’ which documents her life at the estate.
