SOUTH AFRICA
South Africa is a country of vastly contrasting scenic wonder – each corner of the country defined by its own particular flavour and climate. Natural beauty is found almost everywhere.
Cosmopolitan Cape Town, with its gourmet food and buzzing energy – wild Namaqualand flowers of the Northern Cape – “Big 5” (lion, leopard, buffalo, rhino, elephant) game-viewing in the Kruger National Park – migrating whales off Walker Bay – rolling green hills of the Drakensberg Mountains – and the remote, vast plains of the sparse Karoo, ensure that there is something for everyone.
Explore the variety this magnificent country has to offer on a self-drive holiday, or relax on a luxury train as you are transported through breathtaking scenery and forgotten lands.

South Africa is a year-round travel destination. Each region making up this diverse country has something to offer at different times of the year. The Western Cape, Garden Route and Eastern Cape are particularly popular in the summer months, which fall between November and March, as they are dry, and days are long and sun-drenched. Kwazulu Natal has year-round sunshine and mild winters, so anytime is good. In the north, the driest months span winter, from May to October. This is the best time to visit The Kruger National Park and Madikwe Game Reserves, as the bush is thin and game-viewing is spectacular. Catch sightings of the Southern Right whales between June and November off the coast of Walker Bay.
